63% reduction in Umrah insurance costs for foreigners

Comprehensive insurance cost for Umrah pilgrims coming from outside Holy Saudi Arabia has been reduced by 63%. The Saudi Gazette has confirmed that the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has made such an announcement.

According to the report, the cost of insurance has been reduced from 235 to 87 Saudi Riyals according to the new directive effective from January 10. This insurance policy is mainly for Umrah pilgrims coming from outside Saudi Arabia.

This insurance covers various emergencies such as medical treatment, hospitalization, pregnancy, childbirth, dental cases, traffic accident injuries, dialysis and internal and external medical evacuation.

Apart from this, this insurance also covers cases like accidental permanent disability, death due to natural calamities, repatriation of the deceased’s body. The insurance also covers compensation for flight cancellation or late departure.

The duration of this insurance coverage is up to 90 days from the date of entry into Saudi Arabia and is valid only within the country, the ministry said.
